There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. —Ecclesiastes 3:1

Lately, I have felt like a river. I knew that the human body is made mostly of water, but I never realized just how deeply I could flow. I remember walking through a desert season—a time when my heart was dry and my eyes could not give way to tears. I wanted to feel, to cry, to let go, but everything was dammed up like waves waiting for release. Now, in this rainy season, I am grateful. Grateful that God has softened my heart, that it flows freely again, breaking for the things that break His. My emotions, once stagnant, now move like living water. I am learning that this too is holy: to feel deeply, to weep, to overflow with compassion and love.
Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us that there is a time for everything. Seasons of loss and sadness. Seasons of joy and renewal (v. 4). None of them lasts forever, but all of them are purposeful. And through them all, our God remains faithful. Would you believe that even sadness can be beautiful, in its time? Verse 11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” That means even your tears, even your waiting, even your ache is being shaped into something beautiful by the One who sees beyond the storm.
So, my brothers and sisters, if you find yourself in a season of rain, let it pour. Let the waters run through your soul and know that God is near. The same God who allows the rain also sends the rainbow. The day of victory and sunlight is coming.
Reflect: What season do you find yourself in right now? How might God be revealing beauty in it?
Prayer Starter:
Father, thank you for your faithfulness through every season. May we learn to accept the not so good ones and rejoice in the happy ones, but may we pray and trust you through all seasons.
