Today's Scripture:

Luke 1:35: The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God."

Even though every day is a new start, there is something about the new year. Change has been taking place all around us over the past year. With change comes new lessons. It's important to look for Jesus in every situation because only with his strength can we have the ability to overcome.

At LifeNet Church, this year's theme is "Empower." What a timely message for us all as we have made it through 2020. This year, the Lord wants to empower you, and he wants to overshadow you with the Holy Spirit.

He wants this New Year to be a year of building and strengthening you spiritually. It's time we take ownership of what He has in store for us.

All this time, He has been preparing us for the next step in life; now we must choose to allow God into every aspect of our lives. Because the ability of the Believer to walk in authority is determined by the amount of authority we give God in our own lives.

As we learn to allow God more fully in our lives, we start to see His miracles. Jesus is our best friend, but it is time to reflect and look at our lives and see if we have been good friends to Jesus. Jesus wants to EMPOWER and use you. Because you have a purpose in this life.

Even though we don’t have control over what happens around us, we do have complete control of our own actions. It's time for us to dig into His Word, prayerfully connect with him, and seek Jesus every day. Because this year, Jesus wants to take you to new heights. Don’t depend on your own strength, but trust the Lord to EMPOWER you with the Holy Spirit. He is your guide and your strength.
