For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. —John 3:16a

As I reflect on my early years as a Christian, I'm reminded of the joy and blessings that came from serving others in Jesus’ name. I remember the countless Christmas mornings spent preparing and sharing meals with those less fortunate. My wife and I would cook up a storm, loading plates with turkey, ham, sides, and all the trimmings, and hand out toys to the children. The smiles on their faces, the gratitude in their hearts, made it all worthwhile. We did it all in the name of Jesus, and it brought us so much joy. Jesus says in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” I'm grateful for those early years of serving others, and I pray that I continue to spread God’s love and kindness to those around me.
God gave His Son, who gave Himself for us. As followers of Jesus, we all need to share the love of Jesus with those in need, both in word and action. Not all of us can provide dinner and toys, but each of us can show kindness to another person. May we continue to be vessels of the love and kindness of Jesus, and may our actions bring glory to his name.
Jesus is the reason for the season! He is the gift of love, forgiveness, and salvation. As we celebrate His birth, life, and sacrifice, may His love inspire us to share kindness, hope, and joy with others.
Reflect: Who do you know who needs an act of kindness? How can I bless that person in Jeaus' name?
Prayer Starter:
