Additional Scripture: Genesis Chapters 1-3.
Each year Easter time reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made, and we celebrate His resurrection. We know how this story ends, but my prayer for you today is that you receive a fresh revelation of what his sacrifice means for you.
Over the next few weeks we'll be taking a Journey to the Cross, and to gain perspective we are looking at how sin entered. It is important for us to realize that when God created man, it was His intention to walk in relationship with man. After Adam and Eve sinned, this created a separation between God and man, but God in His mercy made a way for us to be reconciled back to Him through the death of His son Jesus Christ.
How did sin enter? Through the lie of the enemy. The devil (our enemy), fools us by making us believe we should have more things to fill up our emptiness. God in His wisdom says, I want you as you are and you are more! When we are in Christ we are forgiven, made whole and righteous. That is worth more than any earthly treasure we can collect. Our relationship with Christ gives us life, while separation from God is death. Sin enters through a lie of the enemy, but salvation enters through the TRUTH of Christ.
The enemy attacks what gives you life. When our foundation is not rooted in Christ, the enemy plants fear and shame to stop us from seeing the love of our Heavenly Father. An intimate relationship with God is foundational, God wants you to know He loves you, He wants you to know Him and He wants you to have life. Once you believe this TRUTH the attacks and lies of the enemy will not have a hold on you!
Although we may fall, we rise again when we surrender our lives to God. Today, ask God to reveal the lies you have believed, and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with MORE OF HIM. Join us this Sunday as we continue our series on, The Journey to the Cross. This Sunday we will share the law (commandments) of God and how they apply to us.
Walk in the TRUTH of Christ,
