At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen. —Isaiah 60:22

I’ve spent years praying for certain things—healing, family, restoration, and so much more. And if I’m honest, it often feels like every prayer is met with the same quiet answer: “Not yet.” So I’ve asked, “How much longer, Lord? Why the wait?” I’ve even wrestled with Him, reminding Him of His Word—how He says that if we ask according to His will, He hears us. So I wonder... Is healing not His will for me? Is it not His will that my family come to know Him? Did He change His mind about giving me a hope and a future? These questions aren’t easy, but they are real.
Lately, though, I’ve been drawn back to this promise in Isaiah: “At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” His timeline is not mine. What feels urgent to me is not urgent to Him. The Lord moves with intention, not haste. He brings things to life at the exact moment they’re meant to bloom.
So that house, that job opportunity, that relationship, that healing—whatever you’ve been carrying in prayer, whether for weeks or for years—is not forgotten. If it hasn’t happened yet, perhaps it’s because the soil is still being prepared. Maybe the timing, though painful, is still being perfected. So hold on. Just a little longer. Our Father knows what He’s doing even when we don’t.
Reflect: Is there a particular situation or need you've been praying about? What might God be preparing in you while you wait for His answer?
Prayer Starter:
Dear God, I know I am not entitled to anything, but thank You for Your promises, which you faithfully give, according to your will. Teach me to be patient and to wait on you, and to remember that whenever the time is right, you will grant all things.
