I don’t have time to visit—maybe next week. Or I’ll call later when I’m not busy.
Have you ever been caught in the web of “too busy”?
Sometimes I find myself tangled in that very web. I forget to follow the example set by Jesus who, despite all His unwavering commitment to His purpose here on earth, took moments to simply be with His disciples. Time spent with them didn’t take away from His mission. “After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized” (John 3:22).
He made time to teach them and pray with them, knowing that once He was gone, they would need more than memories—they’d need life skills, His reassurance, and a legacy to carry forward: sharing the gospel and winning souls for God’s kingdom.
This serves as an example for us—to seek deep, intentional connections with those around us, especially those closest to us. Too often, we only realize someone’s value after they’re gone. I encourage you to take time to be present with your loved ones, whether family or friends.
Call them.
Meet up for coffee or tea.
Reflect on your journey together.
Pray with and for each other.
Stay connected.
Time is fleeting, and once it's gone, we can never get it back. And while you're together, make sure to pour positively and spiritually into their lives.
Reflect: Is there someone you haven’t made time for in a while? What steps can you take this week to reconnect or connect more deeply with them
Prayer Starter:
Lord, today I ask You to reconnect me with those in my life. May I never wait until someone's funeral to say, “I love you.” Let the time be now.
