A friend loves at all times. —Proverbs 17:17

One day while I was on vacation overseas, I got an unexpected text from one of my tenants in Belmopan stating that he would vacate the apartment at the end of the week.  I was shocked and baffled as he had not given any advance notice that he would vacate the apartment. 

I thought, Wow, how will I get to inspect the apartment after the tenant has vacated the premises as I am far away from home?  I was fortunate to get a good friend to inspect the apartment and report all the damages and the work that needed to be done to get it ready for rent.

However, I became worried as I had no prospective client and had to figure out how I would find another renter from a long distance.  I also worried about the filthy state of the vacant apartment.  A couple of days passed, and I got a call from another good friend who informed me that she would be visiting Belmopan and would be able to assist with cleaning and painting the apartment.  

My friend worked tirelessly over the weekend to prepare the apartment.  After the cleaning was completed, she advertised the vacant apartment on various social media.  I had a very busy day after the advertisement was published, answering questions and arranging for prospective tenants to view the apartment.  I could not believe so many people were interested. To my relief, it was rented the following day.

Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” My friends really came through for me in my difficult time. Whether we have a large group of friends or a few close pals, good friends are one of God’s greatest gifts.
